A Best Friends Guide to Valentines Day

A Best Friends Guide to Valentines Day

As Valentines Day passes through yet another year, it reminds us single girls that we have no cute and creative dates to go on, because well, Netflix is better (and no significant other). But sometimes a girl needs some cute and interesting dates, but still… no boyfriend. Who says that dates have to always be with a boyfriend? No one! So, grab your best friend and start getting ready for the best dates of your life!

Cookies + chick flicks? I think, yes! Put on some comfy clothes, find yourself an amazing cookie recipe, and start making those cookies! This can either be super easy and simple, or it can be very messy and fun. Have fun with it, don’t take it too seriously! But then again, don’t set your house on fire. Once the cookies are all finished, grab a good chick flick that will have both of you either in tears (happy tears of course!) or in full on laughter, and cuddle up with your warm cookies. What can get better than some cookies and movies with your best friend? Nothing!

Here is a great cookie recipe: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchens/chocolate-chip-cookies-recipe4.html

Need a new selfie for your instagram feed? Time for a photo shoot with your bestie! I mean, someone taking a picture of you can still be considered a selfie, right? Haha! You can make this super interesting with decorations and all, but you could also find a simple, yet artsy background, because every girl needs a cool looking background for her #flawless selfie! Do your hair, apply some makeup, put your favorite outfits together, and use that pretty face of yours. I do this a lot with my best friends, and we always end up having the best time together while doing it!

Deep chats with a nice warm cup of coffee. Find a local café that you both could sit together in and have long talks about whatever you’d both like. Can’t forget about your drink! Grab yourself a delicious warm cup of coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or whatever you’d enjoy! Talk about boys and how much they suck, or talk about the recent band you discovered and how you can’t stop listening to their recent album. This also gives you a chance to observe cute guys, because lets admit it, there are some cute guys at cafés! Although you are supposed to both be on a date it doesn’t hurt to take a look at boys. “He’s got warm hazelnut colored eyes, almost the exact color of my coffee..” Boys, Boys, Boys.

Become tourists for a day! All cities and towns have their own cool places that you could both enjoy. For example, my town has an aquarium, and although we may be too old for the aquarium, who cares! It’s a girls day after all, have fun and go crazy! Explore your town, act like you both are new to the town, go into that shop that may have some of the coolest caramel apples, or get on that ferris wheel that you have been wanting to go on.

I hope you find inspiration to invite your best friend to one of these dates. Remember ladies, you don’t always need a man to make you happy, that’s what best friends are for! Now, get up from your couch and pull yourself away from those Nicholas Sparks movies (I know, it’s hard. Btw The Notebook is our fave), and get ready for a girls day!

If you try any of these, please give this article a like, and comment which date idea was your favorite or which date you plan to go on with your best friend! See you soon, Xo!
